A remote control adds convenience to an outdoor infrared heater, but it does not change the heater's electrical load, mounting clearance or ingress-protection requirements. The receiver, switching device, enclosure and restart logic must be compatible with the complete heater.

Check supply voltage, heater wattage, current, phases and starting behaviour. The receiver or contactor must be rated for the real lamp load and installation temperature. Do not connect a high-power short-wave lamp to a consumer receiver without approval.
Ingress protection applies to the tested heater or control enclosure, including cable entries and seals. A weather-resistant lamp does not make an open receiver or junction box suitable for rain, condensation or washdown.
| Function | Safety question |
|---|---|
| On/off | Is positive isolation still available locally? |
| Dimming | Is the method compatible with the lamp and supply? |
| Timer | What happens after power interruption? |
| Multiple heaters | Are circuits, phases and contactors correctly sized? |
| Remote pairing | Can unintended transmitters operate the heater? |
Follow the heater manufacturer's height, angle and combustible-clearance requirements. Protect the unit from impact and prevent furniture, fabric or temporary decorations from entering the radiant zone.
Test local isolation, remote commands, dimming range and power-return behaviour. Inspect seals, guards, cables and corrosion regularly. Browse YFR outdoor heaters and protected low-glare assemblies.
Only when the plug, enclosure, circuit and switching rating are explicitly suitable for the heater load.
Restart behaviour should be deliberately assessed for the installation and applicable safety requirements.
It can change brightness and heat output, but the result depends on lamp construction and control method.
No. Safe servicing requires a suitable means of electrical isolation.
Send YFR the heater label, supply and control details for a compatibility review.
