A custom infrared tube can only be manufactured and replaced consistently when its specification is unambiguous. A useful drawing combines electrical data, tube geometry, heated length, cold ends, reflector, termination and mounting references. Photographs support the drawing but do not replace dimensions.

Define where overall length, heated length and terminal position are measured. Identify the installed mounting references and allowable envelope. Avoid dimensions taken from flexible leads or an already broken component unless clearly marked.
State rated voltage, wattage, phases or circuit arrangement and control method. For multiple filaments or special voltages, provide a wiring diagram. Include supply tolerance and operating cycle when they affect design.
| Feature | Drawing information |
|---|---|
| Quartz body | Single or twin tube, diameter, section and length |
| Active zone | Heated length, cold ends and centre position |
| Reflector | Material, coated length, angle and orientation datum |
| Termination | Caps, ceramics, leads, lugs and connectors |
| Installation | Supports, clearances and lead exit direction |
Provide the heated material, area, target temperature, speed or dwell, working distance, airflow, contamination and ambient conditions. This information helps identify a technically possible lamp that would still be unsuitable for the process.
Validate first articles for fit, electrical readings, heat profile and product result. Record any agreed change on a new drawing revision. Browse YFR custom infrared lamps and heater modules.
Often partly, but confirm uncertain dimensions against the equipment, spare or original documentation.
State functional tolerances based on holder fit and process alignment, not arbitrary precision.
A rotated coating can direct energy into the fixture and change the product profile.
Include the controlled drawing, photographs, original references, quantity, test needs and operating conditions.
Send YFR the draft drawing and application data for a manufacturability review.
